I am often, often asked what to do about some sort of personal misery
and/or depression some person is having.
Someone just wrote to me through IML about their anger and depression,
and although in one way I would like to answer them on the level
from which they are communicating, I know it would not have the effect
they desire. Nothing will.
At one time I used to *go into* the person and attempt to connect
at their level, then offer them a thread of ideas onto which they could
free themselves. That stage was not very efficient, and seems over.
Now, it all seems amazingly clear to me, and in its own way,
it is very similar to what has been proffered by many others –
Be Here Now.
Unfortunately, the message does not seem to connect for most people.
As we keep saying, the misery is activated in the mind.
If you are just here now, the past does not have the mental effect.
Things still go on – emotional and physical, but as the Sufi saying goes:
“This too will pass.”
I know – I keep saying the same thing don’t I. And here it is again:
Be where you are. Do what you are doing. Say what you are saying.
Be aware of your thoughts – And Don’t Go There!
