I was just watching how easily people get upset – in their different ways.
A lot of creativity in the ways we do get distressed. Contraction.
Some outward, some inward. And even in the in and out, variants.
Usually however, there is punishment involved, and quite often, revenge.
(Guilt just being the mirror of anger.)
Often so subtle, the punisher is not consciously aware – not only what
they are doing to the other, but they are doing to themselves.
Very occasionally we meet someone, or see somebody on tele who is
innocent. What a joy. How delightful a human being can be in their
uncontaminated state. “When you become as a little child.”
Emphasis on ‘little.’
Do you remember that we used carry with us to the meetings a video camera,
and how shocked people were when they saw themselves?
Often it was hard for them to let in that that person, and the way they
were behaving, was them. And the voice!
“O would some power give us, the gift, to see ourselves as others see us.”
…Robert Burns.
When the shocking realisation happens – that how we are, effects not only
ourselves, but everyone else – and how they relate to us – horror.
Yet another level of how we create our own reality.
And what to do?
Same old thing – every moment unconditional awareness of how we are
behaving. And not taking it seriously.
