Are you Enlightened, and if so, what is it like?
It seems that if the person is in a very high state of consciousness
they do not know how to answer.
Seems like that the illusive state of Enlightenment cannot be
accurately described.
Loa Tzu is quoted as saying something like:
The Truth cannot be said. If it is said, it is not the Truth.
Knowing others is wisdom, knowing yourself is Enlightenment.
He called it: The Tao, The Way.
Jesus is reputed to have said it is:
The Peace that passeth all understanding.
The Kingdom of God.
There is time no more.
Bodhidharma:
Not creating delusions is enlightenment.
Dōgen Zenji:
Do not think you will necessarily be aware of your own enlightenment.
So if it cannot be easily described, let’s look to see what we can
say about a: Desirable State of Being.
First: no fear – of anything.
(I suggest you take some time to check that out.)
No regrets. No Resentments.
At peace – with oneself, the world, and everyone in it.
Fulfilled. A deep contentment.
Done everything, gone everywhere, so nothing outstanding,
yet fully available to respond to anything that seems appropriate.
Kind, sweet, caring, and gently strong.
Watching.
Take some time with this one as well?
Watching, is just – watching: actions, words, thoughts, emotions, feelings, sensations.
Like this:
You go about your day – with watching as your priority.
You do not interfere in any way, with the way you are,
You just observe.
You watch what you are doing – like an observer.
You hear what you say, and listen.
You are aware of what you are thinking, and just let the thoughts be.
You sense every emotion, feeling and sensation in response to everything.
If you make watching your priority you will become more aware of
what you are calling ‘yourself’.
This simple process can set you free.
