Free Will?
Tricky subject.
Some spiritual adepts say there is no such thing as Free Will.
All is already ordained. (Sounds a bit boring?)
Others say we create our own reality, moment to moment.
(Frightening?)
That is the way the mind works – in duality – it is either, or.
In Sanskrit there is a wonderful saying: “Neti Neti.”
It can be translated as: “Neither this nor That” or “This and That.”
So maybe there is no Free Will, and, there is.
There is also a saying from the East that says “Thou Art That.”
So if we are That, all One, then anything we do is The Whole –
so Free Will is irrelevant?
An interesting concept brought up by Alan and Lynne is that
we can change the past. Now that’s a mind bender isn’t it?
So that could mean that how we are not only changes the future,
it changes the past as well. Makes sense if there is no time, only now.
As I mentioned before, the mind, which can only operate in the
duality of past or future, cannot even consider these alternatives,
so they cannot be understood, only lived.
How? Stop holding on to anything you think you know and don’t know.
Let go of all ideas – even the idea of letting go all ideas!
Getting deeper into the abstract now aren’t we.
As soon as you get more comfortable with Not Knowing we can keep
expanding into – whatever there is/is not to expand into.
Happy expanding into not knowing
