It does seem that the mind is unaware that it is only a mind.
It does not seem to realise that it only registers a tiny fraction of
reality, colours, sounds and frequencies.
It’s job seems just to be to gather as much information as possible –
so that it can give us appropriate information to keep us safe.
So it is unlikely that the mind is aware of the possibility that there may
be another state that is beyond the capability of the mind to know:
Intuition; Gut Feeling; Sixth Sense; and lots more.
Suggestion, once again. It does seem that the mind is always attempting
to adjust the outside circumstances (and behaviour of people) to match
the conditioning it has been given. Then, in theory, it will feel
comfortable.
Eastern teachings (and common sense) tell us that will never happen.
If everyone is attempting to change everyone else to suit them – not
likely eh.
Eastern teachings (and common sense?) also tells us that any satisfaction
derived from outside circumstances is not likely to last. Not only do
outside circumstances change, so do we. And so do other people.
Here is a relating tip: Communicate with awareness.
Be aware of the other person and what is happening to them as you share.
Obvious? Simple? I hardly know anyone who does this. To get your way,
speaking louder, harder does not work – because they want their way.
Of course.
Nothing on the outside is permanent – so happiness based on outside
circumstances, and people, will not last. Unless you can be fulfilled
living on your own, not needing anything from the outside, you will never
live in “The Peace That Passeth All Understanding.”
